Upon arriving at Titan Tattoo, you will be greeted by our staff and asked to complete an intake form with basic health information. If you are a minor, you and your parent/guardian will both complete the form. Your artist will discuss the piercing procedure and set up for it. During the procedure, they will walk you through each step and answer any questions. After the piercing, you will receive verbal and written aftercare instructions and contact information for any follow-up questions.
The parent or legal guardian will need to be with the person under 18 and have a valid state issued ID. We also need a copy (digital accepted) of the minor's birth certificate or custody/guardianship paperwork from the courts.
We do have certain restrictions when it comes to piercing Minors. We can pierce ear lobes as young as 5 years old with a consultation. Nostrils at 13+ and navels, lip, septum, and eyebrow piercings are 16+. ALL genital piercings are 18+.
Titan Tattoo offers professional studio piercings to ensure a safe and sanitary piercing experience conducted by a professionally trained body artist. Professional services greatly reduce the risk of infection and allow you to rest easy knowing that everything is done in compliance with the highest industry standards as well as State and Local Health Department Regulations.
The answer is no. We only pierce with the ASTM-F136 implant grade Titanium or solid gold. There are many variables that can affect the healing of a body piercing. Jewelry is one of them. Our piercers will make recommendations on the best jewelry to use for the best healing. This way we can be certain of the quality you receive and if you do have a problem with your piercing, we know it is not the jewelry.
No, with a few exceptions. We do most piercing on a walk-in basis. If you prefer an appointment with at a particular day and time, you can always make one through our online portal. Appointments are necessary for children under 10 years of age, and are recommended for genital piercing.
While everyone's pain tolerance varies, most people will describe the sensation as pressure and/or a quick pinch. The process is often very quick and as painless as possible. It is important to note that it is never as bad as you think it will be.
At Titan Tattoo we have a large selection of titanium and gold jewelry with unique styles for everyone. These metals do not contain nickel, brass or copper which are well known irritants to people with metal sensitivities. We will not pierce you with anything other than implant grade titanium or solid gold. Sterling silver is not a smart option for fresh, healing piercings. Silver has a high copper content and tarnishes from the acidity of your body. Irritation and permanent skin staining can occur.
The answer — it varies. We do a thorough consultation with each client and assist in the selection of jewelry. We also sterilize the jewelry which could take 3-5 minutes. This is usually done while we are cleansing and marking the area to be pierced. The actual process of piercing only takes a few minutes however, clients have questions, we want to be thorough and we will never rush anyone through the process. If you are waiting for a piercing, please be patient. We are not rushing you or the person before you.
No. You cannot submerge your piercing in any standing water until it is completely healed. Water in pools, lakes, hot tubs and even from the tap contain chemicals/, salts and bacteria in high concentrations. These can dry out your piercing site and carry a high risk of infection.
Visit your piercer for DOWNSIZING. When we initially do the piercing, we use jewelry that allows for any and all conditional swelling and the best healing. Once the swelling subsides, we downsize the jewelry and monitor the healing process to ensure no directional migration occurs. We take this extra step to ensure a smooth and safe healing process up to your final change out.
No. Any pain or stress experienced by the mother can cause a trauma response that can affect the unborn child. That's not a risk our professionals are willing to take. There are also healing complications to consider. Anything passing through the mother's blood stream also passes through to the unborn child. Infection, allergic reaction and shock can have negative impacts on the unborn child.
We recommend waiting 6 month after the initial piercing to change your piercing jewelry. It is important to refrain from irritating the piercing with unknown metals or pre-mature jewelry swapping. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE DOWNSIZING. Stay in touch with your piercer to schedule a follow up/downsizing.
Different piercings have different healing processes. Different people heal at different rates depending on general health and habits. Some piercings are completely healed within 6 months. Some piercings, like the industrial, can take up to a year to be full healed. Redness, weeping, itching due to swelling and the body's healing process, slight throbbing, and tenderness are completely common throughout the healing process. Be sure to stay current with downsizing your jewelry and check in with your piercer to ensure your piercing is healing on track. Every person's body is different and we love it when you come in just to "check up" on how your healing is progressing. Please don't hesitate to stop by or reach our if you have any questions or concerns.
If you have any concerns about your piercing, you should come in to the studio to speak with our professional piercer. It is better to be safe than sorry and our professionally trained piercer can address any questions or concerns about your piercing. Your piercing is ultimately your responsibility so in the event of immediate concerns, seek medical attention. Avoid listening to the advice of non-professionals (family/friends).
If you are required to remove your jewelry for an MRI or any medical procedure, our piercer will be happy to help you. We also stock a variety of retainers that are medically approved to keep your piercing intact until your jewelry can be safely put back in the piercing site.
Yes! We recommend that you have one of our piercing professionals install your jewelry to ensure proper fit. They can make adjustments to sizing during the process to make sure you purchase the right jewelry for your piercing. Our piercers may charge a $10 installation/setup charge to cover time and supplies and appreciate your understanding.
Titan Tattoo has a no refund policy. No exceptions. Our piercing professional goes to great lengths to do a thorough consultation for both piercing placement and jewelry. We ask for your approval and consent before piercing. All sales are final.
Unfortunately, NO. We cannot make exchanges for health and safety reasons. Once jewelry leaves our shop, we will not exchange it for any reason. Titan Tattoo also has a no refund policy. No exceptions. If you purchase jewelry from Titan Tattoo, it is best to have one of our piercers put it in for you. If you chose not to have them install your jewelry purchase, we cannot guarantee proper size and fit.
Yes, our piercer is a fully licensed by the State of Tennessee and is a trained professional. Although not a member, our piercer adheres to all safety standards and procedures set forth the the Alliance of Professional Piercers ensuring you receive a professional body piercing at Titan Tattoo.

Upon arriving at Titan Tattoo, you will be greeted by one of our team and asked to complete an intake form with basic health information. This is our standard consent form. Your artist will discuss your tattoo idea and placement, answer any questions you may have and then set up for your tattoo procedure. Once you are in the tattoo chair, your artist will walk you through every step of the process, answering your questions along the way. After the tattoo is completed, you will be given verbal and written aftercare information. Your artist will also give you contact information should you have questions once you get home or during the healing process.
NO. The State of Tennessee prohibits tattooing of anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent. Our studio and our artists WILL NOT TATTOO MINORS for any reason.
The easiest way to get an appointment by filling out the request form on our website. Our artists usually respond to get you scheduled within 24 hours. You can also call the studio, or email your favorite artist directly. Our studio does not respond to DM's on social media. If you want to use social media, please message your artist directly from their individual profile. We do not have a client portal for on-line tattoo appointments.
You will be greeted when you arrive and asked to complete some paperwork – please bring a state or federally issued photo ID with you. Your artist will go over your design and set up for you. Once you are in their booth, they will address any concerns you may have. They will apply a stencil for your placement approval. They will then begin tattooing. Our artists are generally warm and friendly. Some like to chat, some are a little more reserved. Either way, they welcome questions along the way and do their best to answer them and make you as comfortable as possible.
Our shop minimum is $100.
Our hourly rate is between $175-200 per hour. We do not always charge by the hour, although we do schedule appointments by time involved. Most artists will flat rate smaller pieces. Each artist can give you an estimate on the piece when scheduling. If you are working within a budget, talk with your artist. They can show you what they can do within your budget.
NO. Our artists take the utmost care to provide quality service at a comfort level for our clients. Tap Out sessions do not meet our standard of practice.
Our artists draw for clients that have appointments. If you want to commission an artist for a drawing, please talk with any of our artists. Often, during a consultation, the artist will put some ideas together in a rough drawing and then schedule the appointment. Custom designs are drawn after the appointment is scheduled.
In most cases, the design will be ready for you when you arrive at your appointment. Our artists go to great lengths to gather information for the design process. If you need to make small changes the day of, most artists will do it while you wait. .If larger changes are necessary, your artist may choose to reschedule you. Our artists do not send designs out through email for approval.
Our artists will fully explain aftercare during your tattoo session. You will be given verbal and written aftercare instructions when you are tattooed. We also have our aftercare (LINK) recommendations on this site that can be saved to your electronic device or printed.
Our artists will not tattoo you if you are pregnant or nursing due to potential health risks for both the mother and the baby.
We recommend that you give your body time to heal from any illness or injury before your tattoo session. Our artists will use their discretion when scheduling your appointment and reserve the right to postpone your session until you are fully healed or recovered. In some cases, a release from a physician may be required. We will not tattoo you while you are taking antibiotics or prescription pain medication.
Once you submit your booking request, our system will send you a notification almost immediately. The artist will receive your submission and should respond within 24-48 hrs. “Same day” appointment requests are sometimes delayed for this reason. If you are looking to get scheduled on the same day you submit the request, we recommend a phone call to the studio in addition to your submission. Occasionally, we get swamped and lose track of requests – we do not have a booking secretary, sometimes things dump into the spam folder. We do the best we can. If no one contacts you within the week, please reach out to the shop directly. We will make sure someone reaches out to discuss getting you scheduled.
Each artist prices their own work based on their time and skill set. Here are some general guidelines: 1. Our shop minimum is $100. 2. Our hourly rate is $175-200 depending on the work. 3. An artist may choose to charge a flat rate for a piece. When booking, an estimated cost will be provided, but this is only an estimate. Design changes or other factors may affect the final price. If you are working within a budget, please let us know! Your artist can help you design something from your ideas that fits your budget. We strive to find an affordable way for you to get the tattoo you want without compromising our integrity.
We do not take deposits for tattoo appointments. Once you and your artist agree on the time and date, our system will send you a link to confirm the appointment with a debit or credit card. This is not a deposit and nothing will be charged to your card. We do have a strict cancellation/no-show policy. Please be sure to read our cancellation policy carefully before confirming your appointment.
We do not charge to schedule an appointment – there is no deposit or booking fee. Our artists do not charge to design your custom tattoo. We do however, have a strict cancellation/no-show policy. If you cancel within 72 hours (3 days) of the appointment, you will be charged 30% of the estimated amount. No-shows will be charged 60%. Most of the time, if you need to reschedule, you will not be charged a fee. Our artists are always willing to work with you and would prefer to reschedule than loose the appointment all together. Our policy is about communication and respect of each other's time. Multiple rescheduling on short notice could be considered a late cancellation and could incur a 30% charge.

Yes. You can get a tattoo in combination with or in addition to a new piercing in the same day.
Yes. We do our best to accommodate walk ins for tattoos 7 days a week. Walk ins are first come, first served. We cannot guarantee a time for a walk in. There may be a short wait but we would be happy to do your tattoo as a walk in.

The artists at Titan Tattoo offer one free touch up within 6 months on any tattoo they created and applied. Touch-ups are usually not necessary and are at the artists discretion. Our artists may charge for a touch-up if it is necessary as a result of the client not following our aftercare instructions. If the tattoo was done by an artist not working in our studio, we will touch it up for a charge.
Yes. All of the artists at Titan Tattoo are professionally licensed by the State of Tennessee. They also have certification in blood borne pathogens training and CPR. The artists at Titan Tattoo are members of the Alliance of Professional Tattooists and adhere to all the safety and health standards set forth by our industry to ensure the safest experience in Nashville.
